What has changed?
Dates for filing for EB-5 applicants from Mainland China have moved up a month from June and are now October 1, 2014. All other countries, including Vietnam remain current. The date for filing is the date that an EB-5 investor can send in his or her adjustment of status application without having to wait for their priority date to become current.
What is a priority date? A priority date is the date that the U.S. government receives an EB-5 applicant’s I-526 petition. Therefore, filing as early as possible can be very beneficial for an investor concerned about visa backlogs.
