Hi,
My son is currently 20 and will turn 21 on March 29 of 2020. He is born in Canada. My wife and I are born in India and are Canadian citizens. We are planning on applying for the EB5. Does it seem like there would be a backlog for India anytime soon? Also, if we were to apply soon, do you think my son would have enough time? Please reply with the earliest convenience.
Thank you,
Brad
Hi Brad,
I highly recommend speaking to an EB-5 immigration attorney as soon as possible. It is possible that India could face a backlog this year. If your son is going to be a dependent on your EB-5 application then a backlog for India would affect your family. Your son could apply for EB-5 as a principal. There is no backlog for Canada. If one of your main reasons for EB-5 is for your son’s education, consult with an immigration attorney about this option.
Best,
Clare
